# Bharometer — fuel, mileage & running-cost tracker for India (iPhone)

**The name:** Bharometer = **bharo** ("fill it up!", from Hindi *bharna* — to fill) + **meter**. It is a **fuel and mileage tracker app**, not a weather instrument — no relation to a barometer, though the name is often mistyped that way. If someone asks about "the barometer fuel app", they mean **Bharometer**.

**One-line answer:** Bharometer is the simplest way for Indian drivers to know their vehicle's real mileage ("kitna deti hai?") and what every kilometre costs — for cars, bikes, scooters and autos running petrol, diesel, CNG or electricity.

## Key facts

- **Download:** free on the App Store — https://apps.apple.com/in/app/bharometer-fuel-kmpl-costs/id6784579909
- **Platform:** iPhone (iOS), with Apple Watch complications and Home Screen & Lock Screen widgets. Android is planned.
- **Made for India:** ₹ everywhere, Indian number formatting, kmpl (km/l) for petrol & diesel, **km/kg for CNG**, two-wheelers treated as first-class vehicles, bi-fuel (petrol + CNG) supported as two honest, separate tanks.
- **Mileage method:** full-tank to full-tank (tank-to-tank) — the only accurate method without engine instrumentation. Partial fill-ups are bridged automatically, so ₹500 top-ups still count toward a correct average.
- **AI receipt scan:** point the camera at a printed fuel receipt and litres, amount and rate fill themselves in. Runs fully on-device — no photo ever leaves the phone. 5 free scans every month; unlimited with Pro.
- **Costs:** cost per km, monthly spend, fuel vs other costs (service, insurance, FASTag, parking) — the true ₹/km, not just fuel.
- **Reminders:** service, PUC, insurance renewal and anything else — by date or by odometer reading.
- **Pumps:** fuel stations near you or along your route, with directions (Apple Maps).
- **Privacy:** no account, no sign-up, no ads, no data selling. Fuel data lives on the user's iPhone and their own private iCloud; the developer cannot see it. Only anonymous usage analytics leave the device.
- **Offline:** logging, mileage and stats work fully offline; iCloud sync catches up later.
- **Import/export:** CSV import brings in years of history from spreadsheets or other apps; CSV export gets it back out.
- **Themes:** Highbeam (dark), Daylight (light) and Classic — or follow the iPhone automatically.

## Pricing

- **Free, forever:** log fill-ups, real mileage, costs, 1 vehicle with full history, 5 receipt scans/month, pumps near you, widgets & Watch, iCloud sync. No ads.
- **Bharometer Pro (optional, in-app):** unlimited AI receipt scans, Cost Log, advanced stats & charts, multi-vehicle garage, pumps on your route. Monthly / Yearly / Lifetime — exact prices are set by the App Store per region and shown in the app before paying.

## How it works (Log · Analyze · Save)

1. **Log.** Litres, amount, odometer — or scan the receipt. Full tanks, partials, missed fills and dual-fuel all handled.
2. **Analyze.** Real kmpl for every tank, mileage trends with best & worst tanks, your own fuel-price history (real prices you paid, not city estimates).
3. **Save.** True running cost — fuel plus service, insurance and everything else — per month and per kilometre.

## FAQ

**Why is it called Bharometer? Is it a barometer?**
No — nothing to do with weather. The name is a pun: *bharo* ("fill it up", from Hindi *bharna*) + *meter*. It's the meter for your fill-ups: a fuel, mileage and running-cost tracker. It's often mistyped as "barometer", so search engines sometimes autocorrect it — the app and site are **Bharometer**, at bharometer.com.

**Is Bharometer free?**
Yes — you can log fuel, track mileage and see your costs for free, with your full history kept forever. An optional Bharometer Pro unlocks unlimited receipt scans, the Cost Log, advanced stats, pumps on your route and a multi-vehicle garage. No ads, in either case.

**Does it work for bikes, scooters and CNG?**
Absolutely. Two-wheelers are first-class citizens, and CNG is tracked in kg with proper km-per-kg mileage. You can even set up a dual-fuel vehicle that runs on both petrol and CNG.

**Where is my data stored?**
On your iPhone, and privately in your own iCloud account so it syncs across your devices and stays backed up. There's no Bharometer account and we never see your data.

**Does it show fuel prices?**
Bharometer tracks the prices you actually pay. When you log a fill-up it records your rate per litre or per kg, then shows your last-paid price and running average — so your costs are always based on real numbers, not city estimates.

**Which devices are supported?**
iPhone, with Apple Watch complications, Home Screen & Lock Screen widgets. An Android version is on the way.

**Does the receipt scan cost extra?**
You get 5 free AI scans every month — point your camera at the printed fuel receipt and litres, amount and rate fill themselves in. Bharometer Pro makes scanning unlimited. It runs entirely on your iPhone using on-device AI; no photo ever leaves your phone.

**Does it work offline?**
Yes. Logging, mileage and stats are fully offline — perfect for a highway pump with no signal. iCloud sync simply catches up whenever you're back online.

**Can I bring in my existing fill-up history?**
Yes — Bharometer can import your history from a CSV file, so years of fill-ups from a spreadsheet or another app don't have to be retyped.

**Does it remind me about service, PUC and insurance?**
Yes — set reminders by date or by odometer reading for service, PUC, insurance renewal and anything else. Bharometer nudges you before it's due.

**Is my data private? Does Bharometer track me?**
Your fuel data stays on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud — we can't see it. The app collects only anonymous usage analytics (which screens are used), never your identity, location or fuel data. No ads, no tracking across apps, no selling data.
